  • DevDefined working with North Shore City Council on Taxonomy Manager

DevDefined has been working with the North Shore City Council to build an application to make managing and refactoring the complex taxonomy structure used to organise and categorise all information within Council.

The application leverages a number of technologies including:

    • NHibernate & NHibernate Query Generator
    • Windows Forms 2.0
    • Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
    • Windsor Container
    • Rhino Commons

The windsor container has been used extensively to control the complexity of managing the various services and components within the application and applying various cross cutting concerns across the entire domain model.

  • DevDefined Delivering Front of House App for NSCC

DevDefined is working with the North Shore City Council to rapidly develop a new Front of House web based management application to replace the aging access based system currently in use.

This application was constrained financially, and so a rapid approach was taken when developing the replacement application leveraging ASP.Net 2.0 and a number of largely open source technologies including:
    • ActiveWriter, ActiveRecord & NHibernate
    • Monorail
    • Windsor Container
    • Yui & ExtJS
    • Rhino Commons
    • Sql Reporting Services

Reuse of the existing legacy database, and leveraging the validation and binding support in Monorail allowed a very code-light solution to be created within the limited timeframe and with a limited deployment impact.
